President’s Day

Home or away, we know an alternative way to celebrate Washington’s Birthday!

President’s Day is a federal holiday in the USA celebrated on the third Monday of February in honour of George Washington, the first President of the United States (shame it isn’t actually on George’s actual birthday, which is February 22nd)

Anyway, how are you going to celebrate this auspicious occasion?

May I offer two suggestions:

Suggestion One – Head for Palm Beach, Florida - 650 Okeechobee Boulevard to be precise.

Between 18 and 22 February you can have a wee mooch around the Palm Beach Jewelry, Art & Antique Show, viewing (and purchasing) amazing items of antique and aesthetic value.

From Danish silver by Georg Jensen, to native American fine art, to collectable estate jewelry, there are 180 exhibitors with items to stimulate the finest taste buds – the catalogue probably doesn’t do the show justice.

If it’s too late to book your flight to Florida, then Suggestion Two is to take a few moments to put the kettle on, make your favourite cuppa; play some soothing (or stimulating) music, and mooch through the AC Silver inventory (see, you don’t even have to leave the luxury of your favourite (?) chair!)

We may not be able to supply the Florida sunshine, but our silver and jewellery (jewelry) collections are updated on a regular basis with fresh items to satiate your passion.

From Georg Jensen , we may not reach native American fine art, but we can introduce you to an eclectic mix of antique American pieces, including a Cartier note pad, a selection of vintage Bulova and Hamilton cocktail watches.

You see – we can truly celebrate President’s Day the ‘American’ way!
Happy birthday George!
